The charming Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach transformed this weekend into the epicenter of the luxury nautical world with the Newport Beach International Boat Show 2025 (NBIBS). Recognized as the largest and most prestigious yacht event on the West Coast of the United States, the show brings together the very best in boats, design, technology, and lifestyle.
Recently named the best boat show in the United States by the prestigious USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, the NBIBS goes beyond showcasing boats, it offers a full immersion into the Californian nautical lifestyle, where glamour, innovation and exclusivity sail side by side.
With more than 200 vessels on display and over 40 of the industry’s leading shipyards and brokers in attendance, the event provides a rare opportunity: to see up close and even step aboard true floating mansions. Breathtaking mega yachts, sporty powerboats with bold designs, and sailboats equipped with cutting-edge technology are just part of the waterfront spectacle.
But the show’s appeal goes far beyond naval engineering.
The Boat Show is also a gathering point for those who appreciate fine dining, live music, immersive experiences and luxury brand activations. All of this set in a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere makes NBIBS a must-attend event for California’s elite and discerning international visitors.
Another highlight this year was the display of luxury sports cars including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches and McLarens in a parallel exhibition that celebrates a shared passion for design and performance, whether on wheels or on waves. It was a true runway of power and elegance that captivated the gaze, and the cameras, of visitors at the upscale Lido Marina.
During the event, we spoke with Keenan Jacobsen, a yacht consultant from Cruising Yachts, one of the show’s exhibiting companies. He introduced two Bavaria models: a 2024 C45 sailboat, valued at approximately 3.2 million Brazilian Reais, and an R40 motor yacht. According to Keenan, the C45 model is ideal for long ocean crossings and stands out for its ability to be operated by a single person, thanks to advanced automation and navigation systems. The Bavaria R40, with its sporty design and refined finish, was presented as the perfect vessel for social gatherings at sea.
