Journalist and entrepreneur Fábio Borges was once again invited to speak at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, one of the most prestigious business schools in the United States. Located in Los Angeles, UCLA is ranked the number one public university in the country, renowned for its academic excellence, innovation, and global impact.

The lecture with an inspiring and dynamic tone lasted just over an hour. During this time, Borges engaged with students from the Business of Media, Sports & Entertainment Summer Academy, presenting concepts and case studies that connected the corporate world with lessons learned throughout his career as an international correspondent and media entrepreneur.

“The way you communicate defines your credibility and your success,” Borges stated as he introduced the first principle: Assertive Communication. He explained how clarity, respect and strategy in communication can transform the way leaders negotiate, inspire, and manage teams.

For the second principle, Emotional Intelligence, Borges emphasized the importance of recognizing and managing one’s own emotions, as well as understanding others'.

“Being able to communicate with empathy is what separates a good professional from a transformational leader,” he said.

Resilience was the third key theme. Borges highlighted that top professionals are those who can face adversity, adapt to change and recover quickly from setbacks, often emerging even stronger.

In the fourth principle, Well-being, Borges stressed the importance of physical and mental balance as the foundation of productivity and creativity. “Taking care of your health is a strategic decision, not a luxury.”

Finally, he concluded with insights on Leadership: "It isn’t about giving orders, leadership is about inspiring, guiding, and transforming.”

The talk resonated strongly with UCLA Anderson students, who praised both the content and Borges’s engaging delivery. “Very inspiring,” said one student.“It was a great experience, and the entire presentation was very clear,” commented another.

Borges’s lecture at UCLA Anderson reaffirmed not only the international prestige of the Brazilian journalist, but also his commitment to sharing knowledge and inspiring the next generation of professionals, entrepreneurs and global leaders.
